2014 Overview
The annual visit to Cornwall took place on the 18th – 22nd May and I think it’s fair to say we were quite lucky with the typical English May weather.
Contestants for the championship at Lanhydrock were greeted with torrential rain, which somehow transformed into sunshine by the time we teed off!
Sue Pritchard took advantage of the soft course conditions to successfully defend her title, and is 2014’s champion golfer.
One feature of this year’s tour was the almost complete absence of record keeping!
Another feature, by general consensus, was that 2014’s tour was one of the most relaxing, convivial and downright enjoyable we’ve had.
The 1st day saw the Christie team get the upper hand, however this was completely reversed by the end of Monday’s play that was dominated by the Craston team. A very close singles competition on the last day (4 – 4) was not enough for the Christie team to retain the trophy.
The 2014 champions are the Craston team.
Final Scores
Christie – some points Craston – more points
