2016 Tour – Day 3 Report

Tuesday, 17th May – Yelverton

The 2016 Open Championship was held at a new venue for most of the attendees this year.
Overall, the scoring was good with more than half the field scoring 30 points or more.
Out first, defending champion Robert Austen found the course to his liking setting a commendable target of 36 points . In his group Dave Scott came up one point short despite scoring 23 points on the back nine. Closely behind came Pete Cosford and Nigel Wain on 34 .
Notable outward scores came from Nigel with 22, Rob with 21, Sue Scott with 19 and Bruce Mercer with 18.
Coming back,  Dave led the way with 23 with Richard 19 and Pete C 18.
Overall a victory for Rob retaining the trophy and being the first holder of the “Harris Hat of Glory”. This year, in a striking red colour.
